Authors On Call (iNK Think Tank)

More

There is nothing quite like an award-winning children’s nonfiction author in your classroom to engage students and teachers in a live, interactive discussion. Authors know content and they know how to speak to children so that they “get it” and get excited. Best of all, more than likely the author’s books are already in your library so there is a terrific follow–up for the program. Students can read more about the interest in a topic generated by a program.

Authors on Call is the live and interactive educational division of iNK Think Tank, an organization of top children’s nonfiction authors. Meet them through the Nonfiction Minute – a FREE 400-word post for every school day complete with an audio file of the author reading his/her Minute. Thus the fascinating content is accessible to less fluent readers. These irresistible Minutes received more than 300,000 page views last school year and more than 90,000 unique visitors and the numbers are way up for this school year. They will give you an idea of what we authors offer. Beware! The Nonfiction Minute may be habit forming.

Authors on Call have written books on the topics of their programs that cover a wide range of curriculum areas including history, science, math, writing, and more. Authors on Call books and programs meet National Curriculum Standards. (In fact, many of them are excerpted as reading passages in standardized tests.) Let us inspire your students to dig deeper and learn more through our innovative and spontaneous programs.
