Country Music Hall of Fame



The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum seeks to collect, preserve, and interpret the evolving history and traditions of country music. Through exhibits, publications, and educational programs, the museum teaches its diverse audiences about the enduring beauty and cultural importance of country music.

Experience the unique educational programs of the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum without leaving your classroom. Our distance learning offerings provide instructive, engaging, and fun experiences, connecting to a worldwide audience through the museum’s BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Health Foundation Learning Lab. All programs include interaction with a museum educator and a member of Nashville’s vibrant musical community.

River Music Experience

The River Music Experience (RME) is a multi-use facility offering a broad array of educational programming, including the Sound Lab educational recording studio, traditional music lessons, songwriting workshops, drum circles and River Currents Tours, a co-production with the Figge Art Museum. RME’s mission is to help people experience America’s music, especially the music of the Mississippi River, through live musical performances, and programs which nurture, educate and inspire musicians and music appreciators.

Experience both visual and musical art first hand. Students grade 3-6 will learn about the history and evolution of American roots music, and it’s migration up the river – from the cotton field to the big city. Content includes live music performance and narrative on early spirituals, gospel, jazz, blues, country, the birth of rock and roll, and the traditions passed on into contemporary music.
