What should the workplace look like?

- a headset so that the child can listen to the teacher and answer questions;
- a computer or laptop. It is important that the child has the equipment for distance learning. It happens that a family has 1 computer or laptop, and during quarantine, all family members need to use it. You should remember that it will be inconvenient to organize learning on a phone and tablet;
- A separate desk for a student, where only his or her textbooks, notebooks and all necessary supplies will be placed;
- high-speed Internet access;
- a comfortable chair under the computer desk with height and backrest adjustment.
During distance learning, many children sit at a desk for 3-4 hours. But everyone remembers that the child’s body is just forming, right? And the task of parents is to make sure that scoliosis and back pain do not occur. How to do this? Take our memo into account:
Adjust the position of the monitor to the eye level. Sit the student straight and set the screen so that the child’s eyes are looking at the top third of the computer. Not higher or lower. After all, if the monitor is located low, you will have to constantly tilt your head and spoil your posture.

A quality chair. It is impossible to sit for a long time on a stool or chair with a back that cannot be adjusted. The chair should have armrests so that the child’s elbows do not hang down.
- A back roller. For good vertebral support, you need to fill the space between your back and the chair. If the chair has an anatomical shape, it is ideal. If you have a regular computer chair, then put a back support roller under the child’s back.
- A footrest. Feet should not hang down or barely touch the floor. The feet should be straight to ensure that the back is straight. The stand will do a great job with this.
- Good lighting. It is ideal to set up a table near a window so that most of the time the child is engaged in natural light. But if this is not possible, then place the lighting device to the left of the child.
- The brightness of the computer screen. To prevent your eyes from getting tired, adjust the brightness of the monitor. It should not be too bright or too dim. The ideal solution is to use the automatic brightness adjustment function. Depending on the day and lighting, the computer will adjust the brightness of the screen itself.
It is a mistake to think that all books, manuals, and workbooks for online learning should be provided by the school. Yes, teachers try, and they constantly send children printouts, assignments, all the necessary screenshots of rules and presentations. But parents must understand that for quality learning and homework, they must also make sure that their child is methodically equipped.
